Events 2023 – 2024

On Friday 29th September we welcomed families to our Community Cabin for our Macmillan Coffee Morning. It was was well attended by parents and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to catch up. We also hosted a cake sale after school for our children, this was a huge hit and we raised a fantastic amount for Macmillan – £518.12.

School Fund Raising

Over the last year, we have raised a tremendous amount of money that has contributed towards purchasing the following:

  • Selection boxes for every child in school
  • Community cabin
  • Adventure playground equipment for KS2
  • KS1 nature garden
  • Outdoor equipment including whittling knives, campfire kits and gardening equipment

We proudly opened our Community Cabin in January 2023, after months of hard work to fund raise. We had a very special visitor attend the grand opening: Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City and England star)! The cabin has been used for parenting workshops, stay and play sessions, cooking lessons and Flourishing Families have used the space to support our parents to cook healthy meals. As the PTA, we extremely proud of this space.

Events 2022 – 2023

On Tuesday 20th June, we hosted National Festival Circus on the school grounds. They are a professional company who brought their Big Top to Clapgate for the first time! We also had a range of circus themed activities going on inside, including the ever popular ‘Sponge A Teacher’. The event was well attended by families and raised around £3000 towards the Community Cabin.

On Thursday 15th December, we had our annual Christmas Extravaganza. It was a popular, fun-filled event and a brilliant success. Children had the opportunity to toast marshmallows around a campfire, meet Santa in our Solar Dome, try their luck at a range of tombolas and take part in lots of Christmas themed activities. Once again, we were blown away by the support you gave our event and would like to thank everyone who attended. We raised an incredible £3595, which will be put towards the development of the Community Cabin.

On Thursday 20th October, we hosted our Halloween Disco for children from Reception to Year 6. Everyone dressed in their Halloween costumes and enjoyed a lively disco with their friends. Our ‘resident DJ’ the infamous DJ Taylor played for us again and we were heard giving a very special rendition of Clapgate’s School Anthem. It was a great night and we raised £800 towards school funds.
