Whole School Natural Art Project

Earlier this year 6MB took part in a virtual workshop with Amanda Phillips from Leeds Art Gallery. The children had the opportunity to see inside the gallery spaces and look at art exhibits. The class were introduced to the Medicine Wheel , a sculpture made entirely of natural objects by artist Chris Drury. The Arts Council along with the children from 6MB  decided that they wanted to create a piece of natural art in response to their learning. All children were asked to bring in a small, natural object. Each class were then given the freedom to arrange their objects as they wanted. The class compilations have been placed together and are on display in the main school hall on the Ms Franklin celebration of life wall .The project looks beautiful (I know Ms Franklin would approve as she loved nature and art) and shows that art can be made from anything! The exciting thing about this project is that it will change over time as some of the more natural objects will fade. Here are some pictures of the project. We hope you enjoy looking at it!
