Project Overview
As a school we follow The Write Stuff writing scheme. This scheme is used to effectively support children’s transition from guided, teacher modelled sessions to independent writing, enabling pupils to apply their learning and demonstrate their writing creativity. This half term we focused on writing a seasonal poem. As a class we learnt key how to write a poem, following the correct structure and using different vocabulary. The children learnt how to personify Autumn and Spring, and used Alliteration, Similes, Metaphors and a selection of other techniques to attract the readers. Prior to writing the children embark on an experience day, which helps them create a bank of words to help with their writing. The children thoroughly enjoyed walking around our school grounds, spotting signs of Spring to help with their independent write.
