The new Arts Council met for the first time this week. Twelve children were chosen from across year 5 and 6 after making strong applications for why they wanted to be on the school Arts Council. This year, we had an unprecedented 48 children apply for the roles and I would like to say thank you to all of the children that applied. It was a pleasure to read everyone’s applications.
We had a very busy agenda with lots of exciting things planned for the weeks ahead:
- summer arts magazine
- Launch 50 art activities across school
- Whole school art project linked to year 6 virtual session with Leeds Art Gallery – Medicine Wheel
- Drawing project with Leeds Art Gallery and local artist Nicola Pemberton
- judging the Easter egg decorating competition
