Project Overview
Over the half term we have experimented with different voices whilst learning new songs. We have learnt what the terms diminuendo and crescendo means and have been able to experiment with our voices using these new terms.
We have continued to learn about rhythms in songs and can now plot these on a stave. The children have learnt about the pitch of songs and can say whether a note is “so” or “mi”. They have learnt actions to help them remember what these pitches mean and can plot these on a stave. They are beginning to interpret musical representations to support their singing.

I have loved our singing lessons with Nellie. I have enjoyed watching the children develop their musical knowledge. I have seen all the children's confidence grow and have watched children push themselves out of their comfort zone to sing solos. Music lessons have developed the children's respect for each other and have helped create a really positive atmosphere in the classroom. The children have developed their listening skills and this is evident in all their subjects.
